My blogging has once again been shamefully lax, for which I apologize. Dissertation, dissertation, dissertation. And I’ve been reading a very long book. But I had to come out of self-imposed blog exile to flag up this, which I saw on Scott Pack’s blog today.
The below is from Salt Publishing, a poetry and short story (amongst other things) publisher which has been struggling, like so many, thanks to the economic downturn. They’ve started a campaign to try and get as many people to buy just one book from them so that they get a much-needed injection of cash.
JUST ONE BOOK
1. Please buy just one book, right now. We don’t mind from where, you can buy it from us or from Amazon, your local shop or megastore, online or offline. If you buy just one book now, you’ll help to save Salt. Timing is absolutely everything here. We need cash now to stay afloat. If you love literature, help keep it alive. All it takes is just one book sale. Go to our online store and help us keep going.

If we can spread the word about our cash crisis, we can hopefully find more sales and save our literary publishing. Remember it’s just one book, that’s all it takes to save us. Please do it now.
With my best wishes to everyone

Me, I’ve bought Sister Morphine: Women’s Narratives from the Case Notes of a Community Psychiatric Nurse by Catherine Eisner.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered Words from a Glass Bubble by Vanessa Gebbie. Let’s hope it helps.
